AREP NEWS | AREP WINS THE BID OF SUZHOU RAIL TRANSIT LINE 7 TIAN'E DANG DEPOT AND LINE 4 BRANCH LINE PARKING LOT SLAB DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

近日，由法国AREP设计集团、中铁第四勘察设计院集团有限公司、启迪设计集团股份有限公司联合设计的苏州轨道交通7号线天鹅荡车辆段及4号线支线停车场上盖开发项目顺利中标，项目以“三合为一”的车辆段理念及“云栖三叠、月廊荟心”的TOD城市概念作为出发点，打造以交通为基底、新苏式生活为目标的特色开发集群，以城市公共设施基盘为核心，驱动太湖周边城区与苏州城市的未来发展。

Recently, AREP, China Railway Fourth Survey and Design Institute Group Co., Ltd., and Tus-Design Group Co., Ltd. jointly won the bid of Suzhou Rail Transit Line 7 Tian’E Dang Depot and Line 4 Branch Line Parking Lot Slab Development project. The project main concepts are to unite three depots in one, form a three-tier cloud-catcher and create a moon-shaped central corridor, making this TOD city a characteristic development cluster with traffic as the base and new Suzhou-style life as the goal. The infrastructure is the core, driving the future development of the urban areas around Taihu Lake and Suzhou City.

城市产业目标 City industrial goals

基于“大苏州”的城市定位，苏州整体城市以“一核四城”为发展格局，本项目位于“四城”之一的太湖新城。在“工业强基”的城市发展理念支持下，本区域的产业主要以高端现代服务业、创意创新产业为主。

Within the "Greater Suzhou" city positioning, the overall development pattern of Suzhou city is based on "One Core and Four Cities". The project is located in Taihu New City, one of the "Four Cities". Supported by the urban development concept of "industrial strong base", the industries in this region are mainly high-end modern service industries and creative and innovative industries.

景观中枢 Landscape hub

背靠延绵秀丽的旺山，极目波光粼粼的太湖，项目用地立于山水之间，不言而喻将成为城市自然体系中的景观中枢。设计也将以强化此中枢功能展开核心部位设计。

Backed by the long and beautiful Wang Mountain and gazing onto Taihu Lake, the project site stands between mountain and water, and will obiously become the landscape center of the city's natural system. Thus the design will expand the core part design to strengthen this central function.

交通立地 Traffic site

场地周边交通便利，设有三个地铁站，多条高速路和快速路围绕连接。其中地铁7号线北接主城区、15号线东连太湖新城，21号线西至苏州新区，三条轨道为项目带来充沛的客流资源。用地内的三个段场，提供了开展高品质上盖开发的优越条件，也需要智慧地消解巨大体量带来的城市屏障。

Transportation around the site is convenient with three subway stations and multiple highways and expressways that intersect. Among them, metro line 7 connects to the main urban area in the north, line 15 connects to Taihu New City in the east, and line 21 connects to Suzhou New District in the west. The three tracks bring abundant passenger flow to the project. The three depots of the site provide superior conditions for the development of high-quality slab development. They also form a huge volume, creating urban barriers that we will need to intelligently dissolve.

轨道基盘布局 Track base layout

围绕用地，根据线路连接的城市区域、车站能级，以前瞻性的站、城、段、景四元一体化的新理念综合布局线站位。以7号线中心的三个段场集约于场地中部，紧凑上盖范围，为用地贡献了最大化的白地开发面积，并明确分期开发的边界。在区域内打造“社区的”公交微循环系统，将苏州一直提倡的“公交微循环进社区”落实到项目中来。

Around the site, we comprehensively arranged the location of lines and stations according to the city area connected by the lines, the energy level of the station, the forward-looking new concept of the integration of station, city, section and scenery. The three sections, with line 7 in the center, are concentrated in the middle of the site and the slab area is compact, which maximizes bare land development area, and clearly delimits development phases. Finally, the project brings to life the "community" bus microcirculation system, which Suzhou has long been advocating for.

城市设计逻辑 Urban design logic

4. 在咽喉区规划园林和体育公园，成为景观中枢

   Plan gardens and sports parks in the bottle-neck area to become the center of the landscape

5. 多元城市功能组合，创造完备的微型城市

    Multi-functional combination, to create a complete micro-city

6. 形成“山水聚枢，月廊荟心”的设计概念

建筑概念 Architectural concept

0米，9米，15米，三层板承担不同的城市基盘和开发功能，也创造了多元生活的三叠地面。0米水波碧影，9米动静相宜，15米云停风驻，天鹅荡边编制起诗意而精致的未来姑苏之城——云栖三叠。苏式园林，体育公园并置于段场的咽喉区，南北生态和开发纵贯，东西城市与交通横连共筑月廊荟心。

At 0, 9, and 15 meters, the three-layer slab assumes different urban foundations and development functions, and also creates three tiers of diversified life. Water waves and blue shadows at 0m, movement and stilness at 9m, clouds and wind halt at 15m, weaving a poetic and exquisite future Suzhou - three-tier cloud-catcher. Suzhou-style gardens and sports parks are placed in the bottle-neck area of the section. Ecology and development run through it on a north-south axis, while city and traffic are connected on an east-west axis, forming a moon-shaped central corridor.

城市连接 City connection

三叠城市，覆盖大隐于市的段场，亦能连通四方。从轨道站点、公交、景观交汇、相邻街区等城市客流发生源，多重慢行路径铺筑各具特色的上板之路。在住宅区的入口广场，在商业中心的活动区，多点垂直交通方便居民，快捷而不失仪式感。

The tryptich city covers a section that is concealed, and can connect to all sides. From all sources of urban passenger flow, such as rail stations, bus stations, landscape intersections, and adjacent blocks, multiple low-mobility paths pave their own unique roads. In the entrance plaza of the residential area, in the activity area of the commercial center, multiple vertical traffic is convenient for residents, fast and conducive to lifestyle.

开放空间 Open space

滨河慢道边波光流萤、苏式园林内典雅宁谧，体育公园里风云驰骋，地铁广场中仰望惊艳，东西坂道上叠翠景逸，城市开放空间散落在三叠层板的各处，每一景都令人忘却时光，驻足流连。

Fireflies glitter along slow-mobility paths by the riverside, the Suzhou-style gardens are elegant and quiet, the sports park is bustling with activity, the subway square is stunning, the east and west slabs are stacked with lush landscape. The urban open spaces are scattered throughout the three-layered slabs and every scene makes people forget time, stop and linger.

开发 Development

多元丰沛的城市资源，将与周边的多种功能建筑相呼应，捧起一座功能齐备的TOD大城。住宅拥有独立主题花园、社区中心，户外商街带来国潮苏式生活、沉浸式生活中心吸引全世代向往、高技术办公提供多样商办空间，花园独栋创造企业定制服务，精品公寓、酒店遥望天鹅荡烟雨朦胧。

The diverse and abundant urban resources will echo with the surrounding multi-functional buildings, creating a full-fledged TOD city. The residential area has an independent theme garden and a community center. The outdoor shopping streets bring Chinese fashion and Suzhou-style life. The immersive life center attracts the yearning of all generations. The high-tech office provides a variety of commercial and office spaces. The garden in itself creates corporate customized services, boutique apartments, and hotels. All look towards Tian’E Dang in the misty rain under a hazy moonlight.

文化特质 Cultural specificity

悠久的苏州弹词，讲求理、味、趣、技、细，也正对应了设计概念“云栖三叠”的设计特色。鳞次栉比的小街道、开放式的茶楼会馆、白墙树隐的院落、精致迷你的亭台楼阁，天鹅荡的三叠城市，饱含苏州文化的精粹，将未来姑苏生活的赞美诗词，清雅舒缓地弹拨在太湖边的烟雨之中。

The time-honored Suzhou Tanci art form, emphasizing rationality, taste, interest, technique, and meticulousness, also corresponds to the five major design features of “three-tier cloud-catcher”. Rows upon rows of small streets, open-air tea houses, courtyards with white walls and hidden trees, and exquisite mini pavilions…  Tian’E Dang tryptich city is full of the essence of Suzhou culture, and the hymns of the future life of Suzhou are elegantly and soothingly plucked in the mist and rain by Taihu Lake.

生态设计 Ecological design

除了上述对慢行交通发展的明显促进作用外，项目还通过将生活、工作和公共服务汇聚一地，来减少交通需求。此外，项目结合海绵城市的概念，计划达到39%的绿化率，以用于娱乐活动和雨水管理。连续的绿色开放空间有助于减少城市热岛效应(通过增加整体反照率)，还有助于盛行风进入周边地区，从而减少在苏州炎热潮湿的夏天给人带来的不适感。在此基础上，天鹅荡的设计采取了被动节能的方法以回应绿色生态枢纽的设计策略以及形成绿色智慧公共空间。

In addition to the clear promotion of slow mobility described above, this project reduces the need for traffic by bringing together living, working and public services in one mixed-use place. Furthermore, almost 39% of a total surface area is allocated to green spaces for recreational activities and stormwater management, following the sponge city concept. The continuous green open spaces contribute to the reduction of the urban heat island effect (by increasing the overall albedo). It also helps prevailing winds to penetrate the neighbourood and reduce thermal discomfort during Suzhou's hot and humid summers. In this way the design of Tian'E Dang adopts a passive energy saving method, in response to the green ecological hub design strategy, and to form green smart public space. 

三大愿景 Three big visions

1. 项目所具备的城市基盘和规划条件，助推本案将成为具有国际高标准、国内顶级规格的车辆段上盖综合开发的典范。

   The urban infrastructure and planning conditions of the project will help it become a model for the comprehensive development of the depot slab development with high international standards and top domestic specifications.

2. “云栖三叠”的设计理念将多平台宜居、科创聚集、观光休闲产业在多维度结合，进一步彰显苏州的“开放文化”及“创新文化”，必将成为苏州西南部的城市新亮点。

    The design concept of “three-tier cloud-catcher" combines multi-platform livability, science and innovation cluster, tourism and leisure industry in multiple dimensions, and it will surely become a new bright spot in southwestern Suzhou.

3. 项目将“江南文化”巧妙融于其中，旨在打造不仅是区域人群的理想栖居地，更是苏州市民热爱的生活宝藏聚集场，太湖边的一颗生态明珠。让苏州人感到有一种幸福叫生活在苏州，让来打拼的新苏州人感到有一种希望叫创业在苏州，让来旅游的客人们感到有一种惬意叫休闲在苏州。

The project skillfully integrates "Jiangnan culture", aiming to create not only an ideal dwelling place for local people, a gathering place of life treasures loved by Suzhou citizens, but also an ecological pearl by Taihu Lake. Let Suzhou people feel there is a type of happiness called living in Suzhou, let new Suzhou people coming to struggle that there is a hope called entrepreneurship in Suzhou, let visitors feel there is a pleasure called leisure in Suzhou.
